About Me
I am a retired Police Officer from Beaverton, Oregon. I still do some consulting throughout the US in Community Policing and Problem Solving.
I have been a Special Events Coordinator for REI for the last 4 years (to support my gear habit!) I instruct in a wide variety of outdoor recreation topics for REI, including GPS Navigation, Map & Compass, Geocaching, Backpacking, etc.
I am a avid backpacker, hiker, outdoor photographer, kayaker, and as many other outdoor activities as I can cram into a day. I am also actively involved in Scouting, with my Eagle Scout son. I instruct regionally and nationally for BSA, and am a Master Educator for Leave No Trace. In my ‘spare time’ my Wife and I are traveling in our motorhome while our kids are away at college.
