LocalHikes is focused on providing users with information on hiking opportunities in over 270 metro areas in the United States, as well as national parks and other popular recreation areas. Information on hikes are gathered by a team of volunteer reporters throughout the country.
The site provides easy access to information about hiking opportunities in your local area. You can quickly select hikes near your home that are appropriate for your skill level and the time you have available. Photographs from the trail, hike summaries, and scenery ratings make it easy to pick the very best hike.
Once you have selected a hike, we provide all the information you need to hit the trail including topographic maps, elevation profiles, and references to trail guides which contain detailed trailhead and hiking directions.
